After some research, (thanks Google) it seems these 12 grapes are meant to give good luck in the 12 months of the year. Let's hope stuffing my face with grapes gives 2013 just the right amount of luck I need.

twelve grapes
I was given 12 grapes last night, 5 minutes before midnight. Mind you, I've heard of this New Years tradition but never really participated in it. I eat them at midnight like it's expected, but then turn to my mom and ask what they're meant to represent. She doesn't know.
After some research, (thanks Google) it seems these 12 grapes are meant to give good luck in the 12 months of the year. Let's hope stuffing my face with grapes gives 2013 just the right amount of luck I need.
